Start the Work That's Been Calling You

Your empathy is powerful, but exhausting when it goes unchecked.

You’ve spent a lifetime absorbing emotions and expectations, anticipating needs, overdelivering. You’re self-aware and reflective, but somewhere along the way, you lost your way. You’ve mistaken self-control for peace. They’re not the same thing. And now…

You want balance between giving and receiving.

You excel at analyzing but sometimes your mind feels like the toughest puzzle.

Boundaries feel laden with guilt.

You’ve been through hard experiences: trauma, difficult relationships, a tough childhood.

You carry grief that catches you off guard, raw waves that surface when you least expect them.

You want peace and permission to just be without overthinking everything.

You Don’t Have to Walk This Path Alone

I’m the founder of Vita Counseling Center, where I support deep thinkers, creatives, and fellow therapists heal: attachment pain, reset and calm the nervous system, work through trauma and grief, and finally feel like themselves again, calm, clear-minded, and more connected.

Here, your depth and intricacy are seen, not flattened or forced into neat lines.

You don’t have to earn your worth here. No performance.
No pressure.
No need to explain the parts of you others don’t understand.
This is a space where you can work through what’s causing you pain and anxiety.

At heart, I’m a trauma and attachment therapist.

Whether your pain shows up as anxiety, people pleasing, perfectionism, old wounds from childhood, deep sorrow from grief, or exhaustion from feeling everything, our work together will help you work through what’s at the root of this, not just the symptoms.

And, whether you’re in San Antonio or elsewhere in Texas, therapy with me is available both in-person and online.

When You’re Always “On” and Feeling Every Nuance

You’ve always noticed more than most. You think deeply, your feelings run deep, and you carry a kind of attunement that others don’t always understand.

Let's See if We're A Good Fit

You Might Know This Place

You’ve been the strong one for so long that even imagining yourself softening into help feels vulnerable. You’re used to being the one others turn to, the one who steadies the room, holds the details, anticipates what’s needed. But somewhere inside, a quieter part of you whispers that you’re tired of carrying so much alone.

You give and give, yet rarely feel truly seen. You carry it in silence, convinced your needs might be too much or burdensome. You wonder if your sensitivity or depth, once the things that made you beautifully you, have somehow become flaws to fix.

Conflict feels risky, so you tiptoe around it to keep the peace, even when it costs you your own. There are moments when your body remembers what your mind has tried to outrun, old trauma, unresolved pain, or the ache of something lost.

Maybe grief still finds you in unexpected ways: a song, a scent, a sudden wave of emotion that makes no logical sense. You tell yourself to be grateful, to stay strong. But beneath the surface, what you really need is space, to finally let what’s been held in move, soften, and be met with care.

You’re more than what you’re struggling with. You're ready to be free to be yourself again and I'm here for that.

Who Works Best with Me?

You’ll feel at home here if you’re open-minded and ready for work that reaches beneath habits, feelings, and defenses.

Many of the people I work with are writers, artists, therapists, advocates, musicians, professors, researchers, designers, and healthcare professionals, people who care deeply, think deeply, and long for a life that feels truer, freer, and more alive.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need a willingness to show up with honesty and curiosity. Most of my clients come to me not because they’re broken, but because they’re ready, not perfect, just ready, to stop circling the same patterns and begin shifting what’s beneath them.

They’re engaged and reflective. They’ve already thought about their patterns, sometimes for years, and they’re tired of insight that doesn’t seem to translate into change. They want to take an active role in their growth, not just talk about it.

In our work together, we’ll go beneath coping and symptom management to do the deeper healing, so you’re not still held by these same patterns a year, or ten years, from now.

What This Work Can Offer You

    Attachment-Based Therapy

For the ones who’ve spent years pleasing, fixing, perfecting, and carrying more than their share.

In our work, you’ll begin to understand how these patterns once protected you, and learn to connect and care in ways that feel mutual, nourishing, and real.

    Trauma-Informed Therapy

This isn’t about pushing past pain or collecting coping skills. It’s about creating the safety and curiosity needed to meet what’s underneath.

Together, we’ll work toward healing that lasts, so relief becomes growth, and growth becomes a new way of being.

  • Hand-drawn home with a heart inside, symbolizing the comfort, emotional safety, and sense of belonging clients experience in therapy with Rebecca Flores, LPC in San Antonio.

    A Comfortable Space

For those who’ve been told they’re too sensitive, too intense, too much, or simply too different. Here, your sensitivity or being different isn’t something to tone down, it’s something to understand and embrace.

This space is built for the deep-feeling, unknown, reflective parts of you that have never felt fully met.

How Long Will Therapy Last?

You deserve to feel aligned, confident, and deeply at peace

Healing takes time, but we’ll focus on lasting change, not momentary comfort or quick relief. I know you want relief, and I want that for you, too. But our work together goes deeper than coping strategies that only touch the surface.

We’ll work through what’s underneath so the change you feel lasts. Therapy will only continue as long as you need to reach your goals. Each session is 50 minutes and tailored to your unique needs.

What It’s Like to Work Together

Therapy with me is real, warm, deep, and personal. We’ll laugh at times, and we’ll do the kind of work that sticks.

Warm & Real: I show up as a gentle challenger, intentional, deeply empathetic, curious, open-minded, and grounded with a good sense of humor. Therapy should feel calming, honest, and alive, not clinical or cold.

Depth-Oriented: We’ll go beyond surface patterns to understand what’s been quietly driving your pain, reactions, and relationships. The goal isn’t just insight, talking, or understanding; it’s integration and transformation that reach deeper than words, reshaping how you live, love, and relate.

Empowering & Personalized: This is your space. Your pace. Your path. Our work is collaborative and shaped around your personality, goals, and lived experience, so it feels natural, not forced.

Culturally Sensitive & Inclusive: I welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities. If inclusion and respect aren’t shared values, we may not be the right fit, and that’s okay.

Trauma-Informed & Research-Backed: I integrate EMDR, Attachment-Based Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Brainspotting, and Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapy; a research-informed toolbox designed to help you heal, grow, and change on every level.

This is therapy that's freeing, real, and meaningful.

Reach Out When You're Ready

When the Work Starts to Show

Through our work together, clients often begin to notice subtle but meaningful shifts, signs that healing is taking root:

  • Realizing they can say no without feeling like they’ve broken an unspoken rule.

  • Learning to carry grief in ways that honor who they love without being consumed by pain.

  • Seeing their sensitivity less as a flaw and more as a strength.

  • Allowing themselves to show up without the pressure to perform, perfect, or please.

  • Discovering a balanced, more grounded confidence beneath the noise of old patterns.

  • Noticing trauma and PTSD symptoms easing, with fewer triggers, less hypervigilance, and greater calm.

  • Experiencing a lift from the constant swirl of anxiety and finding new ease in everyday life.

FAQ : Therapy with Rebecca Flores, LPC

  • Sessions are warm, collaborative, and shaped by your pace. I blend somatic, trauma, and attachment therapies and techniques, so you feel steady, connected, and supported along the way.

  • No, not at first. I won’t push you before you feel safe enough to go there. We’ll build trust first. When you’re ready, we’ll do the deeper healing work so you’re not held back by old wounds.

  • We won’t just “check-in about how your week’s going” week after week. I’m trained in trauma-focused, attachment-based methods (like EMDR, Brainspotting, Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapy, and somatic work) that help your mind and body release what needs releasing, so healing actually lasts.

That said, life continues happening while you’re in therapy, and sometimes you might run into something that needs to be processed and talked through when we meet for session.

Therapy with me is flexibleand also focuses on what you want and need in therapy.

  • Each person’s healing timeline is unique to them. We’ll talk about your personal therapy goals and check in regularly to make sure therapy feels useful and aligned with what you need.

  • If you tend to be reflective, open-minded, and feel ready to do real healing (not just get advice), we may be a good fit. You don’t have to have it all together, just an openness to go deeper and a willingness to show up for yourself.
