Frequently Asked Questions About Trauma & Attachment Therapy in San Antonio
You've probably read through most of the site. These are some of the questions that tend to come up most often.
If something is left unanswered for you, we can talk through it during a consultation call.
Here’s How It Works
Start With a Consultation
The first step is a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, you can ask whatever you want to know, and we'll get a sense of whether we're a good fit. After you request one, I'll send a brief questionnaire so we can make the most of the time.
Get Started
If we decide to move forward together, I'll send intake documents through SimplePractice, a secure HIPAA-compliant client portal. Everything is completed online, no printing, no scanning.
The Work Itself
Your intake forms help shape our first session, where we'll start to get a clear picture of what you're carrying and what you want from the work. From there, we build something specific to you.
How The Work Moves
The work moves at the pace your nervous system can actually use. It isn't rushed and isn't indefinite.
Fit matters. Sometimes that's clear on the consultation call. Sometimes it takes a session or two. Either way, we pay attention to it.
Your goals won't be fixed. Life keeps moving, and the work stays responsive to that.
Investment & Insurance
-
The initial consultation is complimentary.
Individual sessions are $185, or your in-network copay, coinsurance, and/or deductible.
Sessions are 50 minutes.
-
I'm in network with Aetna, Regence, and United Healthcare/Optum. Check with your carrier to confirm I'm in network with your specific plan.
-
For self-pay clients, I handle billing directly. For clients using in-network benefits, I work with a third-party billing company.
If you're using out-of-network benefits, you pay the session fee and I provide a Superbill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Most carriers reimburse between 30% and 70% of session costs.
Mentaya can check your out-of-network benefits for you if that's helpful
When confirming your benefits with your insurance, useful questions to ask your carrier include:
Do I have out-of-network behavioral health benefits?
How do I request reimbursement?
How many sessions does my plan cover per year?
What CPT codes are covered?
Is telehealth covered?
If you need a list of CPT codes for my services, reach out and I'll send those along.

Yes. I offer both in-person and online sessions in San Antonio, and online across Texas, Oregon, and Washington.
EMDR, Brainspotting, and hypnotherapy are all offered in both formats, the same approaches, working at the same depth. Many women find that being in their own space actually supports deeper work, because the effort of getting to an office is removed and what needs to surface arrives sooner.
Online sessions are held through a HIPAA-compliant platform via SimplePractice. You’ll receive a secure link before each session.
